Yes! We are equipped to help patients of all ages.

Buoyant is available to patients in all 50 states and Washington, D.C.

Buoyant’s international services are available around the globe. Schedule a call or send us a message to learn more.

No, and you don’t want us to! Primary care is the backbone of the healthcare system.

Unfortunately, primary care physicians are also the most overworked and abused by the system. Buoyant’s goal is to supplement the care you receive from your primary care physician and help your entire medical team take better care of you.

We can also help offload some of the burden your primary care physician carries when it comes to urgent needs and care coordination with other specialists. Your Buoyant membership gives you access to board-certified specialists across most medical fields. These experts can quickly assess your concerns, determining what can be addressed through your membership and what might require an in-person visit. If you need to see an outside specialist, we’ll coordinate that too.

More on that in another FAQ below.

We do not take insurance at this time, however all charges outside of membership fees are FSA/HSA eligible.

Because FSA/HSA plans are so variable, and because some plans may allow membership fee reimbursement, please contact your FSA/HSA provider to confirm your plan’s specific requirements.

We know that many of our offerings are premium and our goal is to increase accessibility for everyone as we grow. We are dedicated to offering at least 10% of our services to families in need free-of-charge .

We’re working with local schools and other community organizations to identify and meet as many of our community’s needs as we can.

We will always make sure that your doctors have direct access to us and any testing we’ve done so that you can receive the best care possible. We are just a phone call away for them, too.

We want to strengthen and be a part of your medical team to help everyone get you exactly what you need, when you need it.

Buoyant offers two tiers of specialist care. The first, included in Access and Optimize memberships (available to Connect members for a fee), involves our team consulting licensed, board-certified specialists on your behalf. All advice is documented in your medical record.

When these consultations can’t resolve an issue, we move to the second tier: arranging in-person specialist care outside Buoyant. We assist in finding specialists, scheduling appointments, and organizing pre- and post-visit testing. Throughout this process, we remain actively involved, ensuring you receive comprehensive support at every step.

Buoyant does not provide urgent or emergency care at this time.

While we are able to answer calls and messages quickly, we are not yet set up to guarantee 24/7 availability. We do guarantee a response within 24 hours and expect this timeframe to be much quicker most of the time. At this early stage, we are promising only what we can deliver, even though our future goals include expanding our availability further.

For most scenarios, this is no problem, including questions like “should I make an appointment to see my doctor or go to urgent care tomorrow?” For situations where you are in imminent danger (concern for a stroke or heart attack, for example), your first call should always be 911.

The Buoyant team is available to our members as much as our members need us.

This is included in the membership fee for Access and Optimize members, and an additional fee for Connect members.

While our contract will make the specifics more clear (as our lawyers tell us is required), we think of this access as “unlimited.” Some may say that “no preset limit” is a better way to put it.

All that said, we of course cannot commit to 24/7/365 availability or hours and hours of daily interaction for each member.

We believe that our availability will far exceed your needs, but we do need to operate within the realm of reason when it comes to scheduling and time allocation for our entire membership.

Specific terms and conditions will be clearly outlined in your Membership Agreement, and we will be sure that we’re comfortable and on the same page from our very first interaction

Buoyant Access and Optimize memberships include healthcare navigation assistance for the parents and grandparents of our members. (Healthcare Navigation is available to Connect members for an additional fee).

This means that our team is here to help you be the best possible advocate for your parents and grandparents as they age.

While we can’t enroll Medicare patients as Buoyant members, or provide evaluations or prescriptions for them, there are other services we can offer: like helping you get in touch with hospital staff, or assisting you in getting your questions answered.

Roni Enten Vissoker, PhD is part of our team and available for questions and health optimization.

Her nutrition-specific services, including dietary analysis and nutrition counseling, are available to Optimize members up to one hour per month, and to Access and Connect members for an additional fee.

Her typical consults are 30 minutes, so Optimize members get two appointments per month with a PhD and Certified Nutrition Specialist.

The Connect Membership is designed for people with limited healthcare needs, or who want to try a specific Buoyant service before deciding to become an Access or Optimize member.

Under this plan, there is a low yearly subscription fee, but no monthly fee, and each service is billed separately. A typical telehealth visit is about $125, x-rays are about $350, and MRIs are about $1000. These are in-line with (and sometimes less expensive than) typical insurance co-pays, and much less than self-pay prices at most medical facilities.

Labs in particular are much less expensive with Buoyant than with traditional options, and all of our labs and imaging come with face-to-face physician analysis included in the price.

For individuals with kids or elderly parents, or with medical issues of their own, an Access membership may make more sense. If you find that you are better suited for a different membership, we can change you to another membership option at any time.

All services are FSA/HSA-eligible. Please refer to the separate FAQ on that topic.

Yes, and we already have since launch!

First and foremost, we are doctors. We aren’t backed by venture capitalists, and we’ll never cut corners to provide profit-driven care.

While our short, medium, and long term goals are to change the way medicine is delivered for as many people as possible, today we need to build a healthy business. Our model is driven by providing excellent, expert care, and providing at least 10% of our services free of charge to families in need.

We are optimistic that as we progress, we will be able to offer more options for access for everyone.

Sounds pretty awesome, right?
