My wife often reminds me that the best part of marrying me was getting to know Adam. We’re on kid #2 and we’ve lost count of the number of times that he’s helped out in a moment of angst with a sick little one, even in the middle of the night. Adam has frequently helped us decide whether to rush a child to see a doctor and, even though we’re usually just sleep deprived and over-worried parents, he’s always patiently talked us through the situation. And in the case where the little ones have had to rush to a doctor, he’s always made sure that we go in with an informed perspective.

Like any parents, we've had many occasions where we couldn't decide whether our kids' illnesses warranted an ER visit. Even once in the ER, we weren't always confident in the doctor's suggested course of action. A conversation with Adam gave us the confidence to make the right choices for our kids' health and the peace of mind to know we were following the optimal treatment plan. In scary and emotional situations where we felt overwhelmed and way out of our depths, Adam made us feel reassured, supported, and confident and that is worth everything!!

Since we’ve known Dr. Friedlander, he has always gone above and beyond to help my family with any and all of our medical needs. While my husband and I were on vacation, our 4 year old had a sore throat, and rather than the grandparents having to take him to the doctor, my mother-in-law was able to do an at-home strep test that we purchased from Dr. Friedlander.

I’ve been lucky enough to lean on Adam for help navigating the medical system for both myself and my two young children. It is not always clear when an injury or issue is minor versus emergent, what kind of doctor to go to, and it is rare to get a hold of your doctor quickly. That’s where Adam has really stepped up to support our family. Adam’s guidance is always knowledgeable, clear (ie. words of human can understand not just a fellow doctor! ), compassionate, and with a dash of calming humor. I feel lucky that I can reach out to Adam with a quick question or in a moment of panic, and know he will point us in the right direction.

Adam is one of those rare breeds who is as much of a mensch a brilliant doctor. When our son’s teacher called us in a panic and we didn’t have time to wait for a return call from our family pediatrician, Adam calmly explained what was going on and what we needed to do to make our little one feel better. One phone call saved us thousands of dollars and enormous strife, as we would have certainly been headed to the ER otherwise. Adam is masterful at explaining medical terms without being too technical. Ultimately, he is a master of both the science and the art of medicine, and we are beyond thankful for him!
